To everyone- Once again, I want to thank everyone for coming. Your insight is what is going to establish the foundation of the forum.
We came up with 3 action items.
There is a blog being set up so that everyone can go and promote their shows and hopefully come together on projects and have a means of discussion. There will be an email sent out so that you can begin to post entries. It is a great start to open up discussion based mainly on the concerns of Dallas artists. Soon we will have a website with links and other promotional items so that people can have more information about what is going on in Dallas.
One of our members is going to go to the MAC discussion to learn the concerns/beliefs of interested collectors so that we can address their specific needs and get them interested and buying young dallas artists' work.
There is a second meeting being set up by Linda McLemore at her space in the Bishop Arts District on May 9th. She will be sending out information on that meeting later.
I personally am going to take the information gathered and design the forum to most effectively address the concerns of you all. I have some great ideas but need the time to really figure out how this project can make the biggest impact. I will email everyone from abroad with any information and insights. Thank you again for your participation and insight. None of this would happen without you all and this forum is here to address your needs and wants. You are invaluable to the whole process. I can't thank you enough. Good luck with all your endeavors. This meeting was truly inspiring to see how much people really do care about the the present and future of the Dallas Visual Arts. I will keep you all informed of the progress.
